On Wednesday, some Andes Central students from Ms. Dvorak's class traveled to Yankton for the Southeast Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Scrubs Camp. While there, students participated in various hands-on presentations, that were put on by area universities, tech schools and hospitals. A few of the presentations were Southeast Tech's Cardiac and Vascular Sonography and as you can see the students got to test their skills by trying to find a Carotid Artery using the ultrasound. Mount Marty's football team's athletic trainer put on a presentation about what it takes to be an athletic trainer and how much education is required to be a trainer. During lunch there was an exhibit fair where many South Dakota universities and tech schools had booths set up that offered information on each college's Health Science programs. The booths were manned by either students that are currently enrolled in one of that college's Health Science programs or by one of that college's Health Science advisors or instructors.
