Andes Central School District

The Lake Andes City library borrowed an Educational Suitcase titled Nakota, Dakota, Lakota for use at Andes Central School by the Native Studies class who will share it with other classes and display it at the P/T conferences on the 13^th and 14^th.  The suitcase kit explores the history and culture of the Dakota, Nakota and Lakota people, understands the changes brought about by the shift from buffalo hunting to reservation life, and appreciate that the Dakota, Nakota and Lakota culture is not something from the past,  but is a living, growing and changing part of South Dakota’s culture today, to gain knowledge and experience in learning directly from objects.
