
Tonight, the AC/DC Thunder boys basketball team will host Corsica-Stickney for the Region Quarter Finals @ 7pm at Andes Central School. Admissions is $6 for adults & $4 for students. Kindergarten students in Mrs. Sheppard's Elementary Music class played with boomwhackers!


Third grade has been working really hard on various research projects throughout the school year. After completing research, students will take the information to write a rough draft. Then, Mrs. Swanson revises their writing with them. After that, they type their research paper. Typing is a huge part of third grade as it is part of the standardized test that they will take later this month.







Mr. Sanne's 4th grade class has been working on researching an animal of their choosing and writing an essay about that animal.

8th grade CASE class is finishing their SDMyLife Unit by researching a job and creating a presentation about it. They will present them in class next week.




Mrs. Harrington & Mrs. Derry's Preschool classes went on a Safari Thursday to end their exciting week of learning about the Savanna. They created binoculars and found hats to hit the long route around the school. Students went looking for rhinos, hippos, lions, and more. The preschoolers had a check list that they marked off the animals as they were found. We had a great time on our fun filled safari!

Due to the weather conditions, Andes Central will have a 10 am start tomorrow, March 5th. We will have Preschool and breakfast will not be served. There will be no early dismissal for staff PD. Studends will be dismissed at 3:25/3:35pm.

The Region Boys Basketball game scheduled for tonight vs Corsica-Stickney, has been moved to Friday, March 7th at 7pm @ Andes Central School.

Mr. Watkins MS Science classes are working on their Ecosystem project, as well as showing the first signs of spring with their seed project.







Elementary students are working on a hidden picture project together.


The fifth-grade class has been learning about planets. After researching a planet, the students used that information to create an alien that could live on the planet of their choosing.





Andes Central School hosted the Missouri Valley Regional Spelling Bee yesterday with Burke, Dakota Christian, Gregory, Platte-Geddes, and South Central schools also in attendance. Congratulations to Sully, who placed 1st in 3rd grade; Bradley, who placed 3rd in 4th grade; Kyvon who placed 1st in 4th grade! Great job representing Andes Central!

The high school painting class started a fruit filled still life today using gouache paints. As it is real fruit and cannot be moved once they begin, the students have only one week to get it painted before the fruit starts to turn.
